SUCCEEDING IN CHRIST BY A WILLINGNESS TO CHANGE, PT. 4
Holding to incorrect doctrine can discourage and keep us from the change that will bring God’s blessing into our lives. God’s Inspired Word is the final and complete authority for the Christian and we should recognize that fact and live our lives thereby (see II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21).
God is Sovereign and He has a right to direct our lives (see Genesis 1:1; Exodus 20:3; Psalm 138;2; Matthew 4:4; II Timothy 3:16-17). The Christian must remember that while they are here on earth they have been created to bring glory to God (Isaiah 43:7) and also to please Him (Revelation 4:11). The Christian is expected to seek God with their whole heart and to build their priorities upon His. This will often require “change” in our approach to life.
When the Christian recognizes the truth that their body is the temple of God, it will often require change in their approach to living life. Inasmuch as the Christians body is the living temple of God, the Holy Spirit, they will also recognize that it must not be defiled by the lusts of the world, the body and the temptations of Satan….this too will often require a change in lifestyle (see (Exodus 20:7; II Samuel 12:14; Daniel 1:8; Mark 7:21-23; I Corinthians 3:16-17; I Peter 4:17).
