Verses 105 -112
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. I have sworn…I will perform it…I will keep thy righteous judgments. I am afflicted…quicken me, O Lord…Accept…the freewill-offerings of my mouth…My soul is continually in my hand…I do not forget thy law…The wicked have laid a snare for me…Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever…they are the rejoicing of my heart. I have inclined mine heart to perform thy statutes always, even unto the end.”
God’s Word is a lamp and light to guide us in our walk, weakness and worship; to guard us by hushing our fears and hindering our foes; to gladden us by reminding us of our happy heritage and heavenly home. Believers have an advantage over the unsaved, they know where they are going as they journey through life and they know how to get there, God to help them and the Bible to show them the way. If you don’t know where you are going, you are lost. (Exploring the Psalms, p. 205)
The psalmist vows loyalty and praise to the enlightening Word of God, to the revealed truth, continually, under all circumstances, dangers and difficulties. He will do this joyfully whatever the costs. Be encouraged!
